Niki is a gifted young man whose once-promising musical career has devolved into working as a piano tuner across New York alongside his mentor, Harry Horowitz. Amongst Niki’s encounters is Ruthie, a composition student with whom he forges an unexpected connection. That is, until Niki’s heightened sense of hearing and perfect pitch prove invaluable to a group of criminals, who see his talents as something more useful for opening safes than tuning Steinways—both transforming and threatening his quietly uneventful life.
