The Icelandic Sagas: Volume 1

Magnus Magnusson

The Icelandic Sagas contains twelve of the outstanding examples of the saga art, both major and minor in scope and scale. All of them are about native Icelanders, and these works are customarily referred to as ‘Sagas of Icelanders’ to differentiate them from earlier ‘Sagas of Kings’ and the later ‘Legendary Sagas’.

The Golden Age of saga-writing was the thirteenth century, and all the Sagas of Icelanders in this volume date from that period.

This folio edition has breath-taking cover-art and would look brilliant on any bookshelf.
