A psychological drama set against the backdrop of coastal Spain, “Hot Milk” explores the tangled and toxic relationship between a mother and daughter.

The story follows Sofia (Emma Mackey), a young anthropologist who has put her life and career on hold to care for her ailing mother, Rose (Fiona Shaw). Rose suffers from a mysterious paralysis that has baffled doctors, leading them to a Spanish town to visit a controversial clinician, Dr. Gómez.

Adapted from the novel by Deborah Levy, “Hot Milk” is an evocative and emotionally charged film that explores the complexities of love, resentment, and the lengths one will go to break free.
