Lectures on the Blood

F. Magendie

It would be inaccurate to say, that the reign of the humoral pathology is restored; but the well-read and observing physician may safely allege, that it is impossible for us to take cognisance of the reciprocal action of the organs, in the play of their functions, on each other, or of the operation of either medicinal or noxious agents on the animal economy, without admitting the frequent changes in the fluids under all these circumstances.
